Modeling Neuroendocrine Autonomic Responses in Embodied Autonomous Robots

چکیده
The nervous system is controlled by a collection of neurons that transmit electric signals through the organism. These respond to internal and external stimuli regulate many involuntary physiological functions. autonomic regulates behaviors, such as heart rate, breathing, or pupil size action neuroendocrine substances modulate biological processes. processes allow express state while interacting with others. This manuscript presents an artificial model for regulating expressing functions emulated in Mini social robot. employs robot's perception simulated clock generate responses using control size, breathing blinking locomotor activity. primary contribution this work provide modeling replicate evolution effects on regulation demonstrate how them robots their actuators improve responsiveness naturalness. experiments show can maintain proper during long periods, exhibiting circadian rhythms responding unexpected environmental changes.

Embodied Cognition for Autonomous Interactive Robots
In the past, notions of embodiment have been applied to robotics mainly in the realm of very simple robots, and supporting low-level mechanisms such as dynamics and navigation. In contrast, most human-like, interactive, and socially adept robotic systems turn away from embodiment and use amodal, symbolic, and modular approaches to cognition and interaction. At the same time, recent research in ...
متن کاملSimplicity Applied in Projects Involving Embodied, Autonomous Robots
This dissertation presents four projects in the field of autonomous robots. The Assumption Architecture is a training system designed for LEGO robots. A simple, autonomous, mobile robot learns simple tasks through binary good/bad training, by making assumptions about when to take which action; preprocessing modules interpret sensor data into information. The system is demonstrated in simulation...
متن کاملEnvironment Modeling for Autonomous Welding Robots
Automation of welding process in shipyard is ultimately necessary, since welding site is spatially enclosed by floors and girders, and therefore welding operators are exposed to hostile working conditions. To solve this problem, a welding robot that can navigate autonomously within the enclosure needs to be developed. To achieve the welding task, the robotic welding system needs a sensor system...
متن کاملImplementing SODA in Embodied Robots
Giving robots the ability to learn without the guidance of a researcher is a practical method of developing more adaptable and intelligent systems. Self-Organizing Distinctive-State Abstraction (SODA) is an algorithm that allows a robot to learn routines from from raw sensorimotor inputs through training. The goal of our experiment was to implement SODA on a simulated version of the Khepera II ...
متن کاملAre Robots Embodied?
Embodiment has become an important concept in many areas of cognitive science. There are, however, very different notions of exactly what embodiment is and what kind of body is required for what kind of embodied cognition. Hence, while many would agree that humans are embodied cognizers, there is much less agreement on what kind of artefact could be considered as embodied. This paper identifies...
